For this 5-day northern lights tour we take you to a guest house near the capital of the Russian Saami; Lovozero village. From there, you have daily excursions to the mysterious places of the Sami land. The program includes snowmobile safaris to the sacred lake of the Sami and to the tundra with its large reindeer herds. You will also visit a Husky Park and much more.
In addition to safaris and excursions, you can get acquainted with the traditional way of ice fishing and explore the winter forest on skis or snowshoes.
Those who are looking for the romance of the far north and its specific Polar Night, are welcome in December and January: the icy twilight replaces daylight, the scattering of stars and the Northern Lights shine instead of the sun's rays. February is known for snow, sun, frost and blue skies. In the calendar month of March, spring on the Kola Peninsula begins with long sunny days in a dazzling white world of snow and ice.
Treat yourself on a special winter holiday. Explore the mysterious places of Sami Land by snowmobile and go hunting for Aurora Borealis.
Day 1: Welcome in Murmansk region
Meeting at Murmansk airport or Olenegorsk railway station, transfer to a guest house in the Sami village of Lovozero. Dinner, overnight.
And don't forget to keep an eye on the sky: the Northern Lights could flare up at any moment! (D)
Day 2: Let's go to Husky Park!
After breakfast transfer to Husky Park! We change into Sami clothes and get acquainted with the history of the ancient Saami.
In the replica of a Sami village you will feel like a time traveler. We move on to the enclosures with the Husky.
These are not lap dogs and not yard guards. These dogs love to "fly" over the snowy carpet surrounded by the white world of the Arctic winter!
And you will discover how much fun it is to ride a sled pulled by strong, racing "snow dogs".
During a lunch of national Sami dishes (soup with cream, reindeer meat, berry pie) you will listen to amazing stories about the peoples of Lapland.
After a three-hour program full of impressions, you will return to Lovozero.
Free time: you can take a walk through the village, visit the museum of the history of the Sami or a souvenir shop.
Dinner at the guest house.
In the late evening, the pursuit of magic awaits you: a snowmobile ride in search of the northern lights.
You will warm yourself by a hot camp fire, sitting on reindeer skins, waiting for a miracle: the radiant flickering flashes in a frosty sky!

Day 3: Snowmobile safari to a mystic lake.
Breakfast. Snowmobiles are waiting: ahead is the sacred lake Seidozero, where the evil sorcerer "Kuiva" froze forever on a rock in his shamanic dance.
Seidozero is a place of worship for the ancient Saami, a source of legends and a repository of history, situated in the heart of the Lovozero tundra.
After the ritual ring drive around the lake, we will have a magnificent view of the impregnable mountain ranges and the giant, amazing image of Kuiva on a sheer black rock.
You will see the miracle of the non-freezing Elmorajok River!
Next is fishing in the icy waters of the lake!
After drilling holes and throwing bait into the water, you will pull out nimble colored fish with your lucky rod!
For lunch you will arrive at tourist base Yulinskaya Salma. After lunch, free time: you can relax in a cozy room with the aroma of fresh wood.
Those who wish can wander through the winter forest on skis or snowshoes. Swing on a large swing, ride an ice slide.
Toward evening, those who wish will have a hot sauna (on request), and then dinner and overnight. Daily distance: 80 km.
