New Year 2023 in Lapland

Day 1, December 30: Meeting at the railway station in Apatity. Transfer to the start point in Snow Village. After a brief introduction and dressing warm clothes, we start to drive via the Umbozero Pass in Khibiny mountains, via pine forests and on the ice of Lake Umbozero to the guest house “Puncha”. Wilderness lunch on the way. At arrival at the guest house, sauna, rest, dinner and overnight in 2-person rooms. Distance of snowmobiling: 75-80 km.

Day 2, December 31: Breakfast. Today an ethnographic program awaits you. We drive along the southern foot of the Lovozero tundra mountain range, along forest paths and over a network of frozen lakes to a husky farm not far from the village of Lovozero. There we learn about the life and traditions of reindeer herders and do dog and reindeer sledding. In the afternoon we return to the guest house. A wood-fired sauna, swimming in the snow, a New Year's banquet and fireworks are waiting for us. Distance of snowmobiling: 75-80 km.

Day 3, January 1: After a late Breakfast. The way back to Kirovsk differs from the route of the first day. If snow and weather conditions allow, we will climb one of the highest points of the Lovozero tundra - Mount Mannepakh (950m) with a gorgeous view of Umbozero and the Khibiny, and in Khibiny we take a route via the Partomchorr pass. Return to our Snowmobile Safari base close to Kirovsk, dinner at a café and departure.
