Meet New Year in Lapland

Meeting the New Year away from civilization, in the heart of the Kola Peninsula beyond the Arctic Circle! Severe northern mountains, a forest immersed in fluffy snows, fabulous landscapes in the bluish colors of a short polar day. You will have the opportunity to see the beauty of mountain passes, incredible expanses of snow, pink sunsets and blue sunrises in the mountains, a scattering of northern lights. You will enjoy driving a comfortable and passable snowmobile surrounded by amazing polar nature on the Winter planet. Meet reindeers and take a reindeer sleigh ride. Chat with the smart fluffy Huskies and race in a sleigh pulled by these Snow Dogs, the kings of the North. Atmospheric gatherings in the Lappish tent by the fire. This celebration takes 3 days with daily snowmobile driving of approx. 80 km.

Your stay is in a cozy guest house in the huge wilderness of the Kola Peninsula with electricity, showers, water closets, sauna and mobile networks are available. Happy New Year. Snow mobile safari: 3 days and 240km.

Recommended personal equipment:  Ski overalls, a set of polartec thermal underwear, 3 pairs of warm socks, a sweater with a collar, a windstopper or warm polartec hat, warm gloves or mittens, a metal or plastic mug, a bathing suit and a bath towel, a personal first aid kit, photo and video equipment
Documents:  Passport must be valid at least 6 months after date of return. A Russian visa is required for tourists from most countries. See your country’s Russian consulate or embassy for details. We handle the tourist invitation.
    The participant must possess medical insurance that at very least covers the European part of the Russian Federation.

New Year 2023 in Lapland

Day 1, December 30: Meeting at the railway station in Apatity. Transfer to the start point in Snow Village. After a brief introduction and dressing warm clothes, we start to drive via the Umbozero Pass in Khibiny mountains, via pine forests and on the ice of Lake Umbozero to the guest house “Puncha”. Wilderness lunch on the way. At arrival at the guest house, sauna, rest, dinner and overnight in 2-person rooms. Distance of snowmobiling: 75-80 km.

Day 2, December 31: Breakfast. Today an ethnographic program awaits you. We drive along the southern foot of the Lovozero tundra mountain range, along forest paths and over a network of frozen lakes to a husky farm not far from the village of Lovozero. There we learn about the life and traditions of reindeer herders and do dog and reindeer sledding. In the afternoon we return to the guest house. A wood-fired sauna, swimming in the snow, a New Year's banquet and fireworks are waiting for us. Distance of snowmobiling: 75-80 km.

Day 3, January 1: After a late Breakfast. The way back to Kirovsk differs from the route of the first day. If snow and weather conditions allow, we will climb one of the highest points of the Lovozero tundra - Mount Mannepakh (950m) with a gorgeous view of Umbozero and the Khibiny, and in Khibiny we take a route via the Partomchorr pass. Return to our Snowmobile Safari base close to Kirovsk, dinner at a café and departure.
